One of the Islands’ most trusted vacation rental companies, Island Vacations of Sanibel & Captiva, Inc. has been sold. Gulf Coast Vacation Rentals, a division of Gulf Coast Property Management, acquired the long-standing company to add to their portfolio of vacation rental services along with property management, association management, home watch services & real estate investment services in early June of 2022. Founder, Fran Peters, made the decision to sell the company to retire after more than 50 years in the hospitality industry to be able to spend time with her family, travel the world and appreciate visiting other places as her guests have been doing with her for almost a quarter of a century on Sanibel.

During her time on Island, Fran was active in starting the Sanibel Captiva Vacation Rental Managers Association (SCVRMA), served as Chairman of the board of directors for the Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce and has held a board position with the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum for the past six years. She hopes to continue to be active on Island with philanthropic and other service activities.
